Artist Statement:

"These posters were made by local artist and former employee, Murphy Garcia. She’s been printmaking since college, where she graduated with a Book Arts degree, but has been practicing multimedia art since a very young age. She mostly focuses on relief printing, with an overall passion for image transferring. Each poster was hand-printed using a process of printmaking called screenprinting. It’s a pretty popular process nowadays, especially within the clothing design industry. All it takes is a little photo emulsion, some sunlight and a mesh screen to burn the desired design into the screen and create a stencil. Then, using some pressure to pull a squeegee down the screen, the ink will be forced through the mesh holes and onto the desired surface. Being a former Graham’s employee, this collaboration is very special. Forever 318!" Visit her website here to learn more: https://www.madebymurph.me
